Following the critical success of Santigold‘s (a.k.a. Santi White) debut album, Santogold in 2008, the American musician and producer is gearing up for the release of her sophomore album, Master of My Make-Believe, slated for spring 2012. Talking to Billboard, Santi describes her forthcoming album, co-produced in part with TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, as “sonically eclectic but with some epic curveballs thrown into the mix”, It . The singer said about her new record: ”I want it to be about creating your own reality. I have a song called “The Keepers”: “we’re the keepers, while we sleep in America our house is burning down”. Prior to its release, Santi is set to tour as opener on the U.S. leg of the Red Hot Chili Peppers 2012′s I’m with You tour.

The first single off the new album, “Big Mouth”  is a sassy dance tune, full of tribal beats, produced by Switch & Buraka Som Sistema. The song’s eye-popping, low-tech animated video recently hit the internet, causing quite the sensation. You can expect to see and hear more from Santigold throughout the rest of the year.
