Minnie Driver (born Amelia Fiona J. Driver; 31 January 1970) is an English actress and singer-songwriter. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the 1997 film Good Will Hunting, as well as for an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe for her work in the television series The Riches.

Early in her career, Driver was a member of a band called “Puff, Rocks and Brown”; the band was signed to a development deal with Island Records, which ended without a release.

She began a low-profile return to music in 2000; the following year, she signed with EMI and Rounder Records and performed at SXSW. Canadian music producer Colin Craig assisted in the eventual release of Everything I’ve Got in My Pocket, which reached No. 34 in the UK, and a second single, “Invisible Girl” peaking at No. 68. The album was backed by a group including members of the Wallflowers and Pete Yorn’s band. Driver wrote 10 of the 11 songs on the album and also covered “Hungry Heart” from Bruce Springsteen’s The River. In 2004, Driver was the support act for the Finn Brothers on the UK portion of their world tour.

In 2004, Driver played Carlotta Giudicelli in Joel Schumacher’s film of The Phantom of the Opera. Because of the vocal requirements of the role, Driver was the sole cast member to have her voice dubbed. However, she did lend her own voice to Learn to be Lonely, a song written by Andrew Lloyd Webber specifically for the film version of his musical (it plays over the closing credits of the movie). Driver released her second album entitled Seastories on 17 July 2007. The 12-track set is produced by Marc “Doc” Dauer, who also produced Everything I’ve Got in My Pocket. Ryan Adams and his band The Cardinals and Liz Phair are among the list of collaborators for the album.

Song Lyrics:

The late light of the desert made
The mountains a silhouette
As curved as a woman’s side
As far off as I feel inside
Gravity it’s heavier than my fears
Pulls me to a new conclusion
The light of you is the weight that keeps me here

I wake up with my soul on fire
I’m swimming in my heart’s desire not
Drowning in somebody’s wake, not
Smiling for somebody’s sake
Why don’t you just stay here in the sun
Beats me why you disappear honey
Ain’t I your beloved one

My beloved, my beloved, my beloved one
My beloved, my beloved, my beloved one

I see you blue eyed old and grey still
Up all night ’til break of day.
You dance me across the kitchen floor,
You still got one eye on the door.
How you love me with,
Them halfway eyes.
And when I think there’s nothing left
I think of love and all the time it buys.

My beloved, my beloved, my beloved one
My beloved, my beloved, my beloved one

The late light of the desert made
The mountains a silhouette
As curved as a woman’s side,
As far off as I feel inside.
The battle was hard fought but nobody won,
I’ll be your magnetic north baby,
You be my beloved one.

My beloved, my beloved, my beloved one
My beloved, my beloved, my beloved one

Song Lyrics:

One more night, one more night

I’ve been trying, oh so long to let you know
Let you know how I feel
And if I stumble, if I fall, just help me back
So I can make you see

Please give me one more night
Give me one more night
One more night
‘Cause I can’t wait forever

Give me just one more night
Ooh, just one more night
Oh, one more night
‘Cause I can’t wait forever

I’ve been sitting here so long, wasting time
Just staring at the phone
And I was wondering should I call you
Then I thought, maybe you’re not alone

Please give me one more night
Give me just one more night
Oh, one more night
‘Cause I can’t wait forever

Please give me just one more night
Ooh, just one more night
Oh, one more night
‘Cause I can’t wait forever

Give me one more night
Give me just one more night
Ooh, one more night
‘Cause I can’t wait forever

Like a river to the sea
I will always be with you
And if you sail away
I will follow you

Give me one more night
Give me just one more night
Oh, one more night
I can’t wait forever

I know there’ll never be a time
You’ll ever feel the same
And I know it’s only words

But if you change your mind
You know that I’ll be here
And maybe we both can learn

Give me just one more night
Give me just one more night
Ooh, one more night
‘Cause I can’t wait forever

Give me just one more night
Give me just one more night
Ooh, one more night
‘Cause I can’t wait forever

Music video by Bon Iver for “Holocene” from their 2011 self-titled album. The beautiful clip, which follows a little boy around the breathtaking scenery of Iceland, was directed by Nabil.  The artwork for the album was also released, painted by the American artist Gregory Euclide.

Bon Iver was released on June 21, 2011. On March 23, 2011, Justin Vernon told Rolling Stone that a follow up of For Emma, Forever Ago would be released in June. Bon Iver’s second album was rumored to be titled Letters for Marvin but was later confirmed to be Bon Iver.

The album is composed of 10 songs and takes a new musical direction: “I brought in a lot of people to change my voice — not my singing voice, but my role as the author of this band, this project,” says Vernon, who hired well-known players like bass saxophonist Colin Stetson and pedal-steel guitarist Greg Leisz. ”I built the record myself, but I allowed those people to come in and change the scene.”

On December 15, 2011 Pitchfork.com awarded Bon Iver the number one album of 2011.

Song Lyrics:

“Someway, baby, it’s part of me, apart from me.”
you’re laying waste to Halloween
you fucked it friend, it’s on it’s head, it struck the street
you’re in Milwaukee, off your feet

…and at once I knew I was not magnificent
strayed above the highway aisle
(jagged vacance, thick with ice)
I could see for miles, miles, miles

3rd and Lake it burnt away, the hallway
was where we learned to celebrate
automatic bought the years you’d talk for me
that night you played me ʻLip Paradeʼ
not the needle, nor the thread, the lost decree
saying nothing, that’s enough for me

…and at once I knew I was not magnificent
hulled far from the highway aisle
(jagged, vacance, thick with ice)
I could see for miles, miles, miles

Christmas night, it clutched the light, the hallow bright
above my brother, I and tangled spines
we smoked the screen to make it what it was to be
now to know it in my memory:

…and at once I knew I was not magnificent
high above the highway aisle
(jagged vacance, thick with ice)
I could see for miles, miles, miles

Song Lyrics:

It doesn’t mean much, it doesn’t mean anything at all
The life I’ve left behind me, is a cold room
I’ve crossed the last line, from where I can’t return
Where every step I took in faith betrayed me
And led me from my home

And sweet surrender
Is all that I have to give

You take me in, no questions asked
You strip away the ugliness, that surrounds me (who are you?)
Are you an angel? Am I already that gone?
I only hope that I won’t disappoint you
When I’m down here on my knees (who are you?)

Sweet surrender
Is all that I have to give (who are you?)
Sweet surrender
Is all that I have to give

Oh I don’t understand
How by the touch of your hand
I would be the one to fall
Oh, I miss the little things
I miss the simple things
Oh, and I miss everything, everything about you

So it doesn’t mean much,
It doesn’t mean anything at all
The life I left behind me is a cold room (who are you?)

Sweet surrender
Is all that I have to give (who are you?)
Sweet surrender
is all that I have to give

Song Lyrics:

I stand firm for our soil [a source]
lick a rock on foil [nigga I'll come forth]
Say reduce me, seduce me, [They juice me, seduce me]
Dress me up in Stssy.
Hell is round the corner where I shelter.
Ism’s and schisms, we’re living helter skelter [been livin' on a study]
If you believe and [or] deceive common sense says shouldn’t receive
Let me take you down the corridors of my life.
And when you walk, do you walk to your preference?
No need to answer till I take furthur evidence.
I seem to need a reference to get residence.
A reference to your preference to say,
I’m a good neighbor, I trudge, [shrug]
So judge me for labour,
live version of the song. The bond on me ensures [lobotomy] my good behavior
The constant struggle [strum] ensures my insanity.
Passing the ignorance ensures the struggle for my family
We’re hungry beware of our appetite.
Distant drums bring the news of a kill tonight.
The kill which I share with my passengers.
We take our fill, take our fill, take our fill.

[repeat first four lines]

Confused by different memories,
Details of Asian remedies
Conversations, of what’s become of enemies.
My brain thinks bomb-like,
So I listen he’s a calm type.
And as I grow, I grow collective.
Before the move sit on the perspective.
Mr. Quaye [Mr. Kray] lay in the crevice. [Distant cradle in the crevice]
And watches from the precipice.
Empirial passage.
Heat from the sun somedays slowly passes,
Until then, you have to live with yourself (x2).
